Dan Tindall: Listen
Blue Skye

I like to sit and watch the clouds
Rushing hanging swirling overhead
The ever changing mind of god
Spinning like a whirligig of dread
Yet contemplation lends itself
To something which is close to perfect calm
High above me water towers
Suspended there - you shall not suffer harm
And some may find it curious or strange
To be mesmerised by diamond dust and rain
Blue skies interrupted seem a shame
But don't sad they're coming round again
O life and light return to me
And colour shimmers through the heavy air
Horizon to horizon
Honey sweet to know that you are there
Cool rain takes the heat from me
As the perfumed earth still sleeps so deep and warm
Whilst over head the sky is dead
Waiting for the season to be born
And some may find it curious or strange
To be mesmerised by diamond dust and rain
Blue skies interrupted seem a shame
But don't sad they're coming round again
This blessed curse will keep you safe
Your downfall takes you to a better place
Before you rise resplendent
Upward in a state of not quite grace
The atmosphere is changing
And your fear of death and deluge will recede
The sky may well be crying
But I am smiling for you are all I need
And some may find it curious or strange
To be mesmerised by diamond dust and rain
Blue skies interrupted seem a shame
But don't sad they're coming round again
